   On Sunday July 11 the Siena Spirituality Center at Villa Maria in Water Mill will open the juried show "Earth Prayers", which will run through August 8. The show is open to all artists working in any medium. The theme is a challenge to artists to come up with art that reflects their feelings about an increasingly polluted, overdeveloped world in which a lot of flora and fauna are being extirpated.   On Sunday May 23 Guild Hall continues its Spring Film Series with "The Party's Over" a film that examines the American political process and its shortcomings. An informal sequel to the acclaimed "Last Party", the film follows Phillip Seymour Hoffman as he uncovers the strengths and limitations of American politics.    On Friday through Sunday May 14-16 there will be a Peace Walk from Bridgehampton to Islip sponsored by East End Direct Action. The walk begins at the Flagpole on Rte 27 at 9am.    On Saturday, May 8 there will be a nationwide Post Office Food Drive to fill food pantries across the country, that traditionally run low in the summer months. Sag Harbor Rural Carriers will collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes along their routes as they deliver mail.  Postmaster Heather Reylek encourages all Sag Harbor residents to participate. 5.5.04
  On Friday, May 14 the Sag Harbor Educational Foundation will sponsor its first annual Pierson Alumni Basketball Game. Proceeds raised will help fund SHEF grants and projects such as the Green House, Veterans Oral History Project, and other programs that help educate young people.   On Friday, May 7 Southampton College hosts the 27th Annual "Meet the Writers Book Fair", from  4-7:30pm in a tent adjacent to Chancellor's Hall.  Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author Robert A.     Resources: National Endowment for the Humanities supports teachers who wish to strengthen and expand their understanding of history, literature, foreign languages and cultures, and other areas of humanities.    Beginning on Saturday, Feb 28, The East End Arts Council Community School of the Arts has created a 14-week "Studio Recording Workshop" designed to get the amateur musician's tracks out to the garage and onto a CD. East End Composer George Cork Maul will lead the workshop using the latest in computer-based digital recording techniques. The class will meet on Saturdays, from 1-2pm. Registration is required.   On Tuesday, Mar 9, the annual "Arts Advocacy Day" organized by the New York State Alliance for Arts Organizations, will be held in Albany. Advocates of the arts are needed to attend. Buses will depart Greenport at 5:30am, making a stop in Riverhead. A rally in Albany begins at 11am and ending with a reception at 4pm.      On Saturday, Feb 28, Grenning Gallery, Sag Harbor NY, will host a fundraiser to send an African-American artist to the Florence Academy of Art. The Florence Academy is a non-profit school founded in 1991 by Daniel Graves. It is based on the Old Masters traditions as the foundation for great painting. Although the school caters to international students from 26 different nations, there are no African-American students enrolled at the time. Grenning Gallery is kicking off its campaign to raise money to pay for tuition and housing for an African-American artist for a year. 

    The gala benefit will be held from 5:00 - 8:00pm. Tickets for the event are $50 per person and can be obtained from Grenning Gallery, 90 Main Street in Sag Harbor, or by mail: P.O.    On Sunday, February 29, join Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Islamic Clergy for A LEAP OF FAITH FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING: An Interfaith Prayer Service.  Event begins at 3pm - 5pm, IBEW Hall, Motor Parkway, Hauppauge. Directions: Take LIE to Exit 55, Motor Parkway. From the West, make a left on to Motor Parkway. From the East, make a right on to Motor Parkway. IBEW is ahead about 1,000 feet to your right.
